Best use for beginner game devs

We rate Blender 4/5 for beginners, which makes it a beginner friendly choice. Free with no account, and it does almost everything, but the interface is big and a beginner needs a tutorial for UVs, materials and baking.

Best for: UV unwrapping, applying PBR texture maps, baking textures and exporting GLB or FBX for any engine. Blender 5.2.3 LTS (released Oct 22, 2026) is a free download for Windows, macOS and Linux. Blender is GPL licensed, and blender.org says what you create with it is your sole property, including for commercial games (checked Oct 30, 2026).
